Description

Nearly 20,000 years ago a species of bison roamed the North American west called Bison Antiquus.  It’s thought to be the ancestor of the bison of today, but was somewhat larger.  The handle of this unique stone dagger was created using a fossilized rib of Bison Anitquus, dating approximately 18,000 years.  It is capped with ivory, coming from the fossilized tusk of another North American, ice age animal – a mammoth.  The blade is flintknapped from a gorgeous, translucent piece of Indian Agate.  It came together nicely to a length of 11.25 inches.
