This is a unique type of opal jewelry. The opal heart was flintknapped, that is, it was shaped and formed by a controlled fracturing process which requires no polishing, rendering the opal with its natural glassy texture and fiery beauty. The opal measures 11/16″, is 4.5 carats and is not available in jewelry stores.
